Cognitive rehabilitation addresses thinking skills related to:
- Attention
- Information processing
- Memory
- Problem-solving
- Decision-making
- Organization
These skills are necessary for day to day functioning and breakdowns in these areas can cause difficulty managing daily responsibilities, academic and/or work tasks and decrease ability to participate in social situations. Treatment plans are individually developed and the choice of therapy techniques and strategies introduced are specific to each person. The therapy sessions are interactive. I will help you understand why a specific task is challenging for you and how to overcome that obstacle. You will begin to recognize potential hurdles as you develop the tools to manage those situations. Therapy techniques are evidence based.
