With over 30 years of experience in cognitive rehabilitation, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals facing cognitive challenges. I work with clients navigating ADHD, concussion recovery, stress and burnout, and those seeking peak cognitive performance.
I believe that everyone deserves control over their lives. When cognitive functioning is compromised—whether from ADHD, injury, stress, or simply wanting to perform at your best—that sense of control and independence can slip away.
My mission is to help you regain that control and increase your independence.
I employ a compassionate, evidence-based approach to each client, designing customized programs that go beyond conventional methods. Through individualized cognitive coaching, I work with adults and students who are struggling with daily tasks or looking to improve their skills—whether for work, school, or everyday life.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every person's brain is unique, and so are the challenges they face. That's why I create personalized strategies tailored to your specific cognitive profile, your life circumstances, and your goals.

Cognitive energy is the energy used for thinking, focusing, and making decisions. Just like physical energy, it can be depleted—and restored.
I incorporate cognitive energy management into all of my sessions, whether it's ADHD coaching, concussion recovery, or peak performance optimization. You'll learn to recognize your cognitive patterns, identify what drains your mental energy, and build sustainable strategies to restore clarity throughout your day.
I incorporate brain health education into all of my coaching sessions, empowering clients with knowledge that supports lasting cognitive wellness.
I'm also available to provide brain health education to small and mid-sized businesses, as well as families, helping teams and loved ones understand how to support cognitive wellness and optimize mental performance.
After working together, you'll have lasting tools and understanding
A clear picture of your cognitive strengths and the specific areas where you face challenges—no more guessing.
An individualized set of strategies tailored to your goals, your work, and your life to improve day-to-day functioning.
Knowledge of the brain health pillars—sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, social connection, and new learning—that build a solid foundation for cognitive wellness for life.
The confidence and skills to manage your cognitive challenges independently, long after our work together ends.
The most meaningful measure of my work isn't a credential or a metric—it's the moment a client tells me they feel like themselves again. These letters, shared with permission, offer a window into what cognitive coaching looks like from the other side of the table.

Long-Term Coaching Client
"I have had the privilege of working with Doreen Bridgman for over five years. During this time, Doreen has always demonstrated a special ability to work with people on an individual level — creating a safe and comfortable environment where you feel truly heard and understood.
She has a keen ability to ask thought-provoking questions and encourages you to rethink old patterns of behavior that may be undermining your growth and progress. Then she gets you to identify the cause and effect of issues so that you can generate your own solutions.
When considering a coach, Doreen is the best of the best. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking to make significant changes in their life and in their healing process."
A Letter from T.P.
Brain Injury Recovery Client
"I am writing this recommendation for anyone in need of cognitive coaching. I highly, without hesitation, recommend Doreen.
I suffered a traumatic brain injury in January 2016 and struggled with many life-changing cognitive issues. I was blessed enough to meet Doreen in January 2019. I saw her twice a week, two hours each session, for thirteen weeks.
Learning cognitive strategies from Doreen changed my life. I was an educator who could multitask and remember a million thoughts at once. I never had to write anything down — everything came to me naturally. I never had difficulty expressing myself verbally, and I never missed a beat in a conversation. Everything changed when I got my head injury. For three years, I felt uneducated even though I had earned a master's degree. I would experience a moment with my husband and kids, and within a few weeks they had to remind me about our time together. I'd ask questions as if I wasn't there with them making those memories. I found it difficult to be out in public because I'd be in the middle of a conversation and forget what I was talking about.
Doreen taught me why my brain wasn't working the way it used to. I found myself getting more control over what I could accomplish in a day without collapsing from exhaustion by lunchtime. I learned to create pictures in my mind of what I needed or wanted to remember, and it helped a great deal. Doreen helped me set up an organizer that divided the many events happening in my life at the same time. Whenever something new would come up, I'd write it in the organizer.
I can honestly say that working with Doreen was a life changer. She is educated, knowledgeable, patient, caring, supportive, and has effective strategies. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about Doreen, because I still use her strategies daily. They come naturally to me now, and I experience much less stress and anxiety. I'm engaging in more conversations. I'm remembering more. My life is more organized. I feel I can rely on myself to be a better mom and wife.
I have been to many doctors and experienced many different kinds of therapies — cognitive coaching with Doreen was the only life-changing one. She will change the way you think about and believe in yourself."
If daily tasks feel more effortful than expected, I'm here to listen and help you make sense of what support could help.
